Behind the scenes of our Board Retreat

On January 21, the Twist Out Cancer board and staff gathered in person and virtually to plan for 2024.

Founder and CEO Jenna Benn Shersher kicked off the retreat, then gave the floor to advisory board member Soraya Fata to share the Mission Moment. Soraya gracefully spoke on how Twist Out Cancer has provided her with community and become an important part of her cancer journey.

After Soraya's impactful message, new board members introduced themselves and shared what Twist Out Cancer means to them. We are lucky to have seven individuals join the board in 2024!

During the retreat, all attendees participated in an art directive inspired by Twist Out Cancer's recent Share.Connect.Heal. partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper . Each person received a wooden hexagon and markers and was encouraged to color freely and follow their creative instincts.

The board wrapped up the retreat by breaking into small groups and brainstorming long and short-term goals for the organization.
