Mentors are needed for {MI}Code Experience. IT professionals from every industry can participate in this 1 hour virtual activity. They'll teach 3rd through 5th graders how to code by following a lesson plan that is all mapped out. Dozens of classrooms are still waiting for a mentor to pick them! In the seven county region we serve, there are over 800 apprentices actively working in manufacturing. #DiscoverManufacturing recognizes the urgent need to?prepare?and maintain an inclusive, diverse and highly skilled?workforce that is capable of meeting the demands of the industry and fortifying our economy. As a 19 year-old, Henry Ford was asked to help a neighbor operate this exact piece of equipment. It had a profound impact on him. Even in the 1800's, hands-on learning was inspiring young people! ?
