Here are some buzzwords and their definitions driving HR evolution in building a better work place environment.
HR Transformation Is a redefining of the role, perception and function on an HR organisation. In a transformed organisation, HR are no longer seen as just administrators. Instead, HR are key influencers and contributors to policy, strategy and compliance with legislative governance.
Employee Engagement Is an organisations approach resulting in the right conditions for all members of an organisation to give of their best each day, committed to their organisation's goals and values, motivated to contribute to organisational success, that improves their self-esteem.
Employee Experience Is defined as what an employee received during their interaction with careers' elements (e.g. firms, supervisors, co-workers, customer, environment, etc.) that affect their cognition and attitudes and leads to their particular behaviours. Employee Experience can be positive or negative.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion [EDI]: Equality Is the current term for ‘Equal Opportunities’ and is based on the legal obligation to comply with anti-discrimination legislation. Equality protects people from being discriminated against on the grounds of group membership i.e. sex, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion, belief, or age.
Diversity is about respecting and valuing all individuals, enabling them to fulfil their own potential, whatever their backgrounds. Diversity encompasses visible and non-visible individual differences.
Inclusion is about ensuring no one feels left out because of their age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, or other factors such as social background.
