Behind The Live TV "Mistake"

How many "mistakes" on the live TV award shows do you need to see before you're convinced that it's "authentic" (or simply a carelessly thrown-together gimmick for those of you over 35)? The latest trend of planned - or unplanned - live television sloppiness is kind of like the trend toward "sincere" adultery in romantic relationships, and the mistaken millennial mentality that "as long as you're honest about evil, it's okay." But being honestly wrong is actually dishonest - and, well, it's still wrong. Of course, "happenings" on television are nothing new. It's just the latest repackaging of an old gimmick. Did you expect more of television?
