Your brand is the heart. The thing is the thing.
If you want to sell a thing, or sell more expensive, higher in demand, more interesting, cooler, things...you need brand.?
Brand > Product/ Service
And to build, maintain, utilize, and leverage brand...
YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT A BRAND ISN'T.
Your brand isn’t something outside of you. It comes from you—it needs to come from your head & heart.
Your brand isn’t a stamp or shiny new colour to look the part. It’s your body. It's the foundation.
Your brand isn’t a 9-5 worker. He/ she is a hands-on owner/ operator who will take a call at any time. You want to talk high level or the details, the brand is there.
Your brand isn’t full of shit. Even if you are from time to time (we all are).
Your brand isn't for you. It's for a community of people who dig what it is you believe and represent. If you believe the same, then sure jump in.
So when you hear this, think to yourself, do you have a brand?
Or are you treating your brand like a thing?
A hat is a thing.

Nobody cares about things. Things have meaning because of brand.
Do you want to sell more things? You need to first look at your brand.
Look at your brand or yourself and ask this one question...
Does the thing I/ we sell represent more than the thing itself?
If not, I think you know what you need to look at and put some work into.
Things are sold because of brand.
Money comes from things being sold.
