It Begs the Question - Will We?

There's something disturbingly different about the weather in these days.

It's far more unpredictable, violent and dare I use this terminology - mean spirited.

As we helplessly watch news of the wild fires in Hawaii, I recall an unusual rain storm that hit our town a week ago, which shattered our nerves and had some family members in tears.

As is often the case now - it wasn't just rain. There was also hail and a minor tornado, so fierce that it uprooted not only large, century-old trees, but also cement and pavement.

What world is this in which we now live?

People everywhere are waking up to the fact that climate change is not only here, but is developing at a frightening pace - affecting all parts of the planet.

Experts, scientists, politicians, average citizens. All just watching it as it unfolds.

Many in the spiritual sphere are asking a lot of questions about what nature is trying to tell us. Is this a kind of punishment on humanity, dished out by a God who is fed up of us and our insanity?

Is it a sign that we're reaching the beginning of the end?

Is it something we are 100% responsible for, or would the planet turn on itself anyway - by forces of nature and time?

It is interesting to note that we are living in a time of unprecedented change - not just in the skies, but in our hearts.

Many of us have come to question traditional thinking and old ways.

We seek greater meaning.

We yearn for "connection" and yes - pure love. That which comes without conditions and is not temporary, but forever, and is "real", not fake.?

In an odd way, I cannot help but think that climate change, for all its tragic consequences, has a small silver lining in that it is forcing we humans to look at each other for support.

Will communities answer the call? Will we reach out to each other in times of fear, to conquer, overcome and solve problems?

Will we?

There will be progress, and change might be slowed. But we are stuck with this for ~ 100 years (or more). The severity of adverse impacts will differ around the world, and from place to place within nations. Adaptation will be vital for some, and significant for many. Traditional responses would fail (to a significant extent). An innovative response is needed: https://www.innovationfuturespecialist.co.uk/climatechangeaction/index.html
