The Beginning
Before sharing with you all the ideas & the purpose we have during building ProChess INDIA, I want to shed some light on Why Chess?
How and when I was introduced to Chess?
Through this series of articles, I will be touching upon each & every milestone and challenges I have come across.
I was one of the same 12-year-old 90’s kids, all mischievous and notorious and very fond of games & puzzles. One fine day, my mother bought for me my first chess board.
Being new to the theme of chess and unaware of any known chess theories, me and my sister used to play chess for fun.
The era of internet had just started booming in the west but in India that too in tier II cities it was far away from imagination.
I used to enjoy playing the game even after continuously getting defeated by my cousins and older ones. I involved my parents as well to play chess with me. Something was about Chess that occupied my thoughts all time. I wanted to learn more and more about this game.
Gradually as the time passed, my opponents used to take longer time to win against me in the same positions where I was earlier defeated in seconds.
That was when I knew that this game was interesting and I was able to grasp some ideas from the patterns that repeated itself.
I used to remember these patterns, but still being unfamiliar with any chess concept and theories.
Then came a phase where some people who were actually good at chess started explaining to me about the game, still the structured learning was not there.
This is how the interest kept on increasing and Chess became my favorite sport.
