The Beginning

That burst of energy when you have a new project is one of the greatest feelings in the world...at least for an architect or designer.  It's the stuff that makes someone my age want to stay up all night and draw until I drop...(there's not a lot I want to stay up for anymore, but this is definitely one of those things).

I love the beginning of each project and the back and forth process of designing them.  We take a couple of sketches, a very primitive idea and then work between the model and the plans until we have a concept going.  Modeling stops at this point and the plans are developed.  We take those to a fairly complete state, work on the elevations (referring back to that initial model) and then we start the final model from scratch.  It's always interesting to me how similar they are, but how complex the final one becomes....and here is the beginning of the final one as it's being built.
