Begin By Being You

Begin By Being You

?

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” ―?Oscar Wilde

Of course, you need to be yourself. Whenever you attempt to be someone or something other than yourself the likelihood is you’ll have a good deal of difficulty being completely honest.? You might even appear fake or phony to others.? It’s challenging enough just being yourself and doing the best you can to be the type of person you truly want to be.? And especially if you’re a salesperson . . .? All right, so what if you are a salesperson? ?Like it or not, at one time or another we are all salespeople.

Let’s put aside all the clichés you may have heard about salespeople; salespeople can’t be trusted, salespeople are only interested in the sale and not their customers, salespeople lie!? Okay, if these often-heard clichés are inaccurate, then what is a salesperson like??

Just to clarify, there will always be some untrained salespeople who quite simply don’t deserve to be called salespeople.? A well-trained salesperson is always honest, can be trusted, and is most definitely intent in satisfying his or her customers.? Can these well-trained salespeople be themselves? ?Do salespeople have to “fake it” when they’re with their customers?? NO, absolutely not! ?Well-trained salespeople must first of all know themselves, their behaviors, their changing attitudes, and how they are perceived by others. It’s this knowledge, knowing themselves, that affords them the ability to assist their customers in having their wants and needs satisfied.? And of course, well-trained salespeople must also be trained to uncover their customer’s wants and needs.

It's the sales training that allows you, the salesperson, to know yourself well enough to always be yourself while you’re dealing with your customers.? Make sure you have a Sales Coach, or Trainer, that will help you to know yourself and reach your maximum potential.
