Before you push the button on your next IT project… Wait...

Are you about to push the button on a big IT project… Before you do here is a checklist worth checking… 

1.      Do not ‘rush’ things – unless it is a real emergency. Inadequate time in the planning stage will lead to problems.

2.      Will the solution meet our real need? If this isn’t the perfect solution, consider do you deserve better? What will the cost be in not getting a solution that meets your real need?

3.      Does this solution include long term thinking? What are your companies long term goals? Will this solution meet your future needs?

4.      Think what can go wrong? What if delays occur? What contingencies do you have? (e.g. slack in the timetable)? What if a key person leaves or goes off sick?

5.      Is the price/quality model practical robust and will it deliver Best Value? Ensure you test it thoroughly.
