It’s not the person, it’s the system.?
From day 1, we are told, “It’s a numbers game,” and “You have to do it THIS WAY, or good luck.” Many programs say “Submit this many resumes to qualify for a refund”?
This involves overriding who you are and your humanity and involves learning a new way that feels icky and goes along with everyone else following the same Borg beliefs.?
Go along with “the rules” of how you are supposed to do it.
Don’t question just do it.?
When it’s not working, what’s the answer?
Do it 10X More, do it harder, you must not be working hard enough.?
Some people take a long time to unlearn this (like I did).?
Some of us just never unlearn it.?
And it’s a tragedy for the precious human inside and to anyone who meets them.?
And to everyone who tries to un-learn, it’s not easy to do. It’s a journey filled with rough terrain.?
At every turn, we are threatened with “bothering people” being “too much” “coloring outside the lines” being bad, with breaking the rules being bad, like don’t do that because you will need to “submit your application and wait in line with everyone else”.
All of this happens at the nervous system level when we are young, and it subconsciously continues as we grow up.?
Always thinking someone else knows better and trying to follow that way, and when that way doesn’t work, shaming ourselves and blaming ourselves for not getting the results.?
Being human is so challenging.
For every single one of us.?
Even for those who seem to have unfair advantages..?
Like the people who are laid off and have a job offer the next week?
For people who get easy success and almost never fail, the road is even harder ahead.

Because they never had to face the challenges.?
And even if you say YOU do not play into the system.?
For example, let’s say you’re against patriarchial beliefs.
The moment you look at a big pile of laundry or your kitchen being messy, and shame yourself (Even a tiny bit) for not being on top of it...
You are holding that system up and supporting it.?
We participate in it without even knowing it, because of how it was programmed and ingrained in us.?
Go easy on yourself, go easy on the humans.?
Question the system.
Question the system HARD.
Check your own unknowing participation. It lives within your self-talk.?
Want to fight the system and create your own rules??
Ban your own mind of the constructs imposed upon us by a broken system that only works for the select few (1-2%) of job applications to get through to an interview.
1-2% that’s Terrible odds.?
To create something better for all of us it’s going to take more than reproducing the same beliefs and acting on them 10 times harder even when they don’t work.?
It’s time to flip the game entirely.?
Let’s start a new beginning for you.?

1 个月Absolutely! The system often sets job seekers up for failure. It's not about trying hard; it's about the rules. We must value our unique selves instead of following one way. Thanks for sharing this, Natalie Fisher ??
