Before the World got Warm
Before the World Got Warm-? by Gregory Farrell
Before the World got warm,
when schools closed from the snow,
children rushed to sleds,
and to the park they’d go.
Snow in the air,
wind in the hair,
down the hill they’d ride,
with blinding speed,
the children freed,
from teachers, books, and fear.
And if sleds bashed,
With mighty crash,
Perhaps a frozen tear.
But it was good,
The World was cold,
A happy time of year.
At end of day, they’d finish play,
and drag the sleds back home.
Exhausted now they went to bed,
safe in their parents' care,
and dreamed of flying down the hills,
while snow blew in the air.
