Before + After
Continuing on last week's theme of spontaneity, the information we receive can arrive in specific, inspired moments. In contrast to last week, how do we avoid becoming fixated on these moments?
Consider the information like a bolt of lightning. Lightning doesn't strike until conditions are met, and dissipates if the energy isn't captured and used. We can't control when it arrives, but we can control the space around it - preparing beforehand and honoring our obligations after it.
Sometimes these lightning bolts might not be destined to become great. It can arrive and we have no use for it - like inspired ideas that might not come to life. We won't know where the inspiration leads us unless we engage with it. Sometimes this inspiration might not be enough, and effort takes over. Other times inspiration might strike and we aren't able to summon the effort.
The key might be in focusing on the surrounding space, and not the lightning bolt itself. When we're struck with an epiphany, our knowledge of what is possible is expanded. We enter a new reality - and even when we leave that state, the knowledge and experience stays with us.

Something to Note:
As we work, we may notice certain connections and become surprised by what's being revealed. These "a-ha!" moments are small, bolts of lightning. Less vivid, they still illuminate our way.
