My For You page on TikTok is buzzing with interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and promotional events for the new Beetlejuice?Beetlejuice?movie, and I’m absolutely thrilled. The timing couldn’t be better; this is an incredible move.

The nostalgia factor will be unmatched. Those who enjoyed the original Beetlejuice in the ’80s will now be bringing their grandchildren to the theater, and we all know what the most popular Halloween costumes will be this year. It’s pure genius.

The marketing strategy is both brilliant and captivating. It’s exciting to watch and see how much joy this movie brings to audiences.

I can easily foresee this movie breaking box office records, and it’s well-deserved. With Tim Burton’s last film being in 2019, anticipation for this sequel is high. Given that the original Beetlejuice was the 10th highest-grossing film of 1988, it’s reasonable to expect this new release to be another major hit.

What is concerning, however, is the level of consumerism that many will indulge in. The sheer amount of merchandise is overwhelming, and the temptation to acquire it will often go unchecked. Items that seem like absolute must-haves will, in many cases, quickly end up in landfills, just like previous purchases.

Looking at this, one wonders how long we will continue this toxic trend. It is very concerning. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. generates about 292 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) annually. This amounts to approximately 4.9 pounds per person per day.?Additionally, each person discards about 81 pounds of clothing annually.

I will definitely go see the movie and can’t wait to see what Tim Burton brings to the big screen this time, but I’m staying away from purchasing any merchandise.?
