A Beer Collaboration with Friends

The South Shore Beer Guild was established in 2012 as a common voice for citizens of the South Shore who enjoy drinking, making and talking craft beer.?Co-founders Brian Kirsch and Dom Vonella’s vision to perfect a local craft beer and capture the essence of their community began in 2005 when Brian received a beer brewing kit from his wife.?Today, Brian’s passion for science and engineering along with Dom’s business acumen has driven the South Shore Beer Guild to consult with your favorite local outfits such as Nantucket’s Cisco Brewers, Framingham’s Jacks Abby, Plymouth’s Indie Fermentation, Boston’s Trillium Brewery, Hull’s Vitamin Sea Brewery, Weymouth’s Widowmaker Brewery, Marshfield's Stellwagen Beer Company, Duxbury oyster farmers and even Jay Peak, VT’s 242 BBQ and Brew.?South Shore Beer Guild has shared their own craft with others and at events like the Duxbury Ding, Duxbury Food and Wine Festival’s Oktoberfest, and more events to help raise awareness for nonprofits such as Wicked Good Cause, National Adrenal Disease Foundation, Duxbury Beach Reservation, Inc and the Duxbury American Legion Post.?

Of all the accolades, South Shore Beer Guild is most known locally for its Piping Plover IPA, a tribute to the New England family lifestyle on the bay and beach.?With so much attention and protection paid to these little shore birds we celebrate when the “tide is high and the birds can fly”.?As a summer rite of passage the Piping Plover IPA is shared with all our friends and family.?

This year’s 20 barrel batch was brewed with Marshfield’s Stellwagen Beer Company. ?A collaboration with true friends, in creating a beer that is centered around a bird that so many are without a doubt emotionally ambivalent towards, our hope is that this IPA brings you and those you care about together in celebration of the South Shore - the fantastic region that we and the Plover call home.

Our seasonal beer offering continues into the fall where the SSBG continues to support the growth of the Duxbury Food and Wine Festival’s very own Oktoberfest.??Meet us Saturday, September 24th under the Bavarian tent @ the Historic Winslow House in Marshfield, MA. Prost!?
