Beef Jerky
(W)ord Matthew 5:13 “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness?”
(O)bservation I love to make beef jerky. I think it is the process that is most appealing, even more that the accolades I sometimes get from those who eat it.
I often get this question. “What type of meat are you using?” Well I have found out that if you use the right seasoning, marinate it properly, it could almost make cardboard taste good. It is not the meat, it is the seasoning that is used.
When I Observe this verse I see that God is telling me that I am to create an aroma that will draw men to Him.
(R)esponse I am here to bring out the God-flavors on this earth. This is one of my higher purposes and higher calling. I may be somebody’s Real Estate Broker. I may be somebody’s executive. I may be somebody’s Mentor or discipleship partner. But first and foremost, I am here to sprinkle God’s flavor throughout the earth. For how else will the people of this world taste Godliness? I may think I am highly favored because I possess things. But God doesn’t favor things. God favors flavor!
(D)ialogue Father, and my best Friend, just the thought that you would allow me to be part of the Seasoning that entices others to come to You is far beyond my human comprehension. Help me to present Your flavor to all that You bring across my path. In Your name I pray. We will talk again soon and often YOUR TURN
