On Becoming Maestro

On Becoming Maestro

A few months ago I met a world-famous conductor prodigy named Molly Turner on the beach in Miami. She invited me to attend her big upcoming concert and when I took the podium (even just recounting the moment) I got goosebumps!

Backstory

Several years back I'm searching for my next big innovation.

I want to level up my business to new dimensions of fulfillment and to improve my leadership with new octaves of clarity. I want more. I want BETTER!

And what I discover is that in order for my outer reality to change, my image of myself has to change. Which is an extremely complex process but in short, I had been thinking of myself one way and in order to jump to the next level I needed to deep down let go and start thinking of myself in a new way.

So to determine my new way, I go on this radical journey into creativity and imagination and innovation (still very much enthralled in this journey today).

I Get Inspired To Become A Conductor

Not in the traditional sense.

But an expert who, with magic wand capacities, is able to unite social orchestras and bring people somewhere new.

I'm so loving the idea of conductor that I start dressing more originally, I take art classes to start thinking more artistically, and close friends start calling me Maestro ( Steve Schwab even sent me a Keith Lockhart signed baton.)

With my retreat hosting and team facilitation, I start reading rooms more subtly and creating next-level learning experiences, in my business partnerships I lead more clearly, and in my speeches I incorporate suspense, passion, and awe.

The authentic leadership role of conductor and the benefits/rewards have been nothing short of life-changing: I'm becoming MAESTRO!?

So I'm Walking On The Beach

When I randomly (not-so-randomly?) meet Molly Turner -- a world-famous conductor prodigy who has just recently been brought in to lead Miami’s New World Symphony.

I cannot believe my ears: a real live conductor!?

I tell Molly about backstory (of course she loves it!) and she invites me to attend their first concert (Gustav Holst’s The Planets) at a fancy concert hall downtown.

I enter and the entire auditorium feels smooth and ORGANIC: like a spaceship made entirely out of wood.

The orchestra tunes and the audience goes perfectly silent...

Then Molly comes walking out on stage wearing all black to this gleaming podium set in the center of it all and proceeds to deliver one of THE. MOST. badass human feats I have ever witnessed.

I Am Speechless.?

After the concert, Molly gives me a tour backstage where she walks (with me clinging behind) confidently through security doors and raving fans and fellow musicians who all look up to her in a rockstar way.

I get to see her green room, I meet the other musicians, and Molly asks this official-looking dude to step aside so we can walk back out onto the stage.

At this point the auditorium is empty and the moving guys in full swing.

But I naturally made my way to the podium to have a little moment.

I wasn't aware of it but Molly snapped a pic :) ?
