Being driven by ambition is fine, but it is finite and time limited. And once you've achieved those goals, what's next?
Who do you want to be? What mark do you want to leave on this world as a human being? Your aspirations are infinite, because it's about always becoming a better version of yourself.
What is the legacy that you want to leave?
In this 90 Second Mentor, Doug Conant, Founder and CEO of Conant Leadership, former CEO of Campbell Soup, and Chairman of Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose (CECP.co), author of?The Blueprint: 6 Practical Steps to Lift Your Leadership to New Heights,?drops what we call a “keeper” to guide us to what matters.
Watch and tell us what?you?think and please share your best insights in becoming the leader?you?aspire to be.

2 年This is brilliant, Dr. Mark Goulston. I think living life with a purpose and still enjoying the journey leading up to that point is a fulfilling way to go.

Mark & Doug -- Great comment. I'm 'leaning in' to my eulogy. I created it as part of my 50th college reunion, in a 'what's happening' note: 'Peter did what he could to see to it that all kids, everywhere - and especially youth at risk - have a great foundation.' Right now, I am 'taking on Newark,' with a focus on early education and literacy. I've heard it said that, once you make a commitment, 'the earth moves too...' So last week I was invited to the Newark Mayor's Conference on 'The Future of Education.' It turns out, Mayor Ras Baraka is a former teacher and principal, and yes - he shares the same goals.
