Becoming a British Citizen

All I can say is what an amazing day I had today! Words cannot begin to describe the pride, joy, and honour I felt today when I swore my Allegiance to King Charles the Third and his wonderful family and became an official Citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Everyone in this photo was so delightfully warm and welcoming as were my fellow citizens.

I was, later on, able to attend a wonderful vigil about our dearly departed Queen later that day after speaking with our deputy Mayor - Councillor Dorothy Trueman. I attended the wonderful vigil service at the Sunderland Minster where I was able to pay my respects. It has been a day filled with a lot of emotions of joy, honour, and solemnity. May Queen Elizabeth the Second Rest in Peace and may our King Charles the Third reign in excellent health!

I would finally like to thank my two references for their immeasurable support and great friendship - Luke Burgin and Dan Makaveli - if anyone should know anything about them both is that they are not only great friends of mine, but I also consider them as family. Thank you both again and thank you Sunderland City Council for the brilliant and well-thought-out ceremony today. The Sunderland Male Voice Choir performance was stunningly lovely - it was a privilege listening to their singing.
