As a young entrepreneur, I was fortunate to have someone – a mentor – who believed in me, and was prepared to invest in my talents and take a bet on my future. I am now dedicated, through my Foundation, to give back to a continent that has given so much to me.

On the 1st of December 2014, we launched the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme, through which I have committed $100 million to support the next generation of African Entrepreneurs over a decade. In just two years, we have impacted the lives and businesses of 2,000 African entrepreneurs, who have already created thousands of jobs through direct employment and contributed millions of dollars in revenue to their societies; following the training, seed capital funding and mentorship they received from the programme. 

Mentorship is a crucial element of the programme, and requires passionate individuals who are established entrepreneurs or professional leaders in their fields, and are inspired to support, engage and nurture the next generation of African entrepreneurs.

 In 2017, we received over 93,000 application from 55 African countries and we have now selected the 1,000 most promising startups to through the TEF Entrepreneurship Progamme…Now we need YOU.

The strategic guidance and support that the Mentors provide to these upcoming businesses will undoubtedly play a major part in Africa’s economic transformation.
