Become Mental Health Aware.

Mental health-related problems always exist, but some can perfectly be overcome with a change in behavior, improving well-being, and changing the lifestyle. This means that depression for example if is not treated at the beginning point, will take more time to be overcome, and will deteriorate affecting the individual in all daily life situations, including the capacity to work, maintain relationships, or taking care of their own finances, or hygiene. The emotional side of it will be overwhelming for the individual that feels lonely, afraid, powerless, losing self-love, and with complete despair as-is no end to the suffering with negative thoughts, and low mood, that leads to suicidal thoughts.

We all have our bad days, and we can experience low moods, but in this case of depression, this will be experienced for much longer and the person cannot bounce back. We all have friends, families, or even work colleges that at any time in life admitted that they are experiencing mental health problems, and is our relation with how we deal with this information and the support that we can give that have to change.

Times changed, but people's old mentality still the same, creating stigmas and preconceptions about Mental health problems.

We live in a world that According to data from the IHME's Global Burden of Disease, about 13% of the global population some 971 million people suffer from some kind of mental disorder, this is a huge impact on how our society is declining in mental health, and not achieving wellbeing that is supposed to deliver a better quality of life. Is shocking in the way that we have people thinking that they should hide from others because they will be misunderstood, or be tagged as crazies, weeks, or lazy because they are feeling and experiencing mental health disorders.

Times had changed, but people's old mentality still the same, creating stigmas and preconceptions about Mental health problems. This has to change for us to be able to deal with a serious problem, helping each other, and open the door of freedom of expression to individuals suffering from these problems.

A clear example of how we see people reacting to the public figures as Prince Harry and Meghan interview on Oprah Winfrey, demonstrated how unprepared we are to accept that Mental health is a very serious and dangerous problem when not treated, that ruins peoples lives, in any age, color, race, culture or social paths of life.

Is not just the question of acceptance, but also give the support that people need to feel encouraged to talk about their feelings, without been judged, and listening with patience and love, to our close friends, families, colleges at work, kids. We have to encourage people to feel open in talking about what are their fears and reassure them that no matter what happens we are together, and all will be O.K

Create a Mundial and national movement in all communities awareness about mental health, is today more important than ever, and as we still in a very fragile Mundial situation, more is needed to be done to assure that people can feel good with themselves, have a better quality of life, and improve the capacity of dealing with the uncertain future,

I personally think that we all play a part, and if we decide to help each other, even with just listening without judging, respecting that we are all different, and we have different ways of dealing with problems, this will be bringing a positive impact to our humanity.

Then I wanna a more positive way of dealing with mental health problems, and this is what I will really gonna be working in BELIEVEyou company, looking for ways to transmute the negative feelings and emotions related to mental health problems to a very positive one.

I am looking for answers that involve the way people feel bad about life, and this can be in a spiritual level, physically, or the state of the mind, and approach with a clear view that in some way, we are feeling bad because one or all of these sectors in life is not feeling complete or satisfied.

I know the feeling, and I learn over the years that I was feeling bad because I was deeply unhappy.

I had depression when I was younger, I know the feeling, and I learn with the years that I was feeling bad because I was deeply unhappy, was always a sensation that was something missing, something was not right.

First I was thinking maybe I am not from this planet,( really I am not kidding.) no one could understand me. After was the searching for others approval and love to feel better, that just made it worse, when having to be dealing with mistrust and hurt breaking, all the pain, the cry,

When all was not working I did what everyone does, saying that others and all childhood traumas were responsible for my deep and never-ending depression.

This is my true story, I tried to kill my self, I used drugs, I used alcohol, all to stop the pain of living, and one day, when I had 25 years old, I was very bad crying in my darkroom, I knee next to the bed, and I put the bible in front of me, I cannot even remember if I open a page, I just lay my head on the bible and I did ask; " God, please stop the hell that I am living on." I heard a voice, maybe inside my head or not saying. " YOU ARE CREATING YOUR OWN HELL." I stop crying immediately, I look around was no one in the room just me, I start by thinking I am getting crazy, but after some seconds absorbing that information, I start Laughing, and I open my curtains, was a beautiful sunny day outside, the house was dark because I kept the curtains closed to create a proper dramatic environment, the light just spread inside the room, warm and nice. All my drama and my pain were all in my head, I had created my own hell, and I could now learn how to create my own paradise.

Since that day my life changed forever, I move to another city, I start a new life full of joy, with an appreciation for this gift that is living, I study all I could about how to maintain my mind, body, and spirit healthy, I never stop doing meditation, learn yoga, reading books that help to develop the self, and I learn to believe in me, my potential, my choices, and my infinite capacity of love others no matter what.

Then is not a miracle my story, is just the simple realization that till we stop looking for what makes us feel happy outside, and learn that the answer always was in us, we cannot experience happiness.

Then I want to give to all and anyone, the idea of, if they can embrace who they are, improve the capacity of self-love, and feeling worthy of all the happiness in life they will achieve it.

We have examples of people that deal with their Mental health problems, and did overcome not just the symptoms but use them to transform their lives and make the world a much better place. Check these names:

Leonardo DiCaprio and Mental health

Leonardo DiCaprio is a legend that we all look up to him, but he suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The Oscar-winning star admitted he feels compelled to walk through doorways numerous times and step on sidewalk stains left by used chewing gum. But DiCaprio has managed to keep his OCD tendencies under control, saying, “I’m able to say at some point, ‘OK, you’re being ridiculous. Stop stepping on every gum stain you see. You don’t need to do that.’”

No one can deal with mental health on their own, and family and friend is the key for a successful treatment and support.

Where some see a problem to solve I see an opportunity for individuals to improve themselves, maybe is the natural call that we have to change things in our life that is not making us happy anymore, and a drastic change for the better can be a solution that will bring the meaning back to our life. I think this is the call to evolve the human race, as in an upgraded more conscious species, that will be more in touch with the inner power of creation. The first step is helping each other to download the information, and get up living a better quality of life.

No one can deal with mental health on their own, and family and friend is the key for a successful treatment and support. The most interesting is that what really helps in any mental health illness, is simply talking with someone about your problems, learning to understand, and dealing with feelings and emotions, I think that we all can do that.

man talking with other man about mental health

Men are the most difficult to admit experiencing mental health-related problems because of all the social stigma around manhood, and things as men never cry, contribute to this distorted reality that they have to suffer alone. Then keep an open door for conversations, letting anyone know that is ok to feel bad, and helping the person explore the emotions without feeling any kind of pressure.

Awareness is really being aware, being awake, and present to everyone that needs support with mental health. This is the most important as a way of tackling mental health-related problems before turning to the doctors and medication.
