Civil Engineer III

The team is seeking an engineer with experience related to the development, construction, and operation of water and wastewater engineering projects. The main job responsibilities include managing municipal engineering projects, conducting preliminary studies, and preparing design plans, cost estimates, reports and standards pertaining to the design and construction of utility projects. Minimum training and experience required include possession of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field and five years of professional work experience in the area of engineering to which the position is assigned.


Civil Engineer I, or II, or III

The team is also seeking an engineer with construction engineering and inspection experience to fill a Civil Engineer position that assists with the inspection of the department's Capital Improvement projects and private developments. The main job responsibilities include assisting the program engineer with managing the day-to-day aspects of the construction inspection unit, including assisting with requests for information, supervision of construction inspectors, assisting with issues in the field, providing engineering guidance on proposed changes in the field, assisting with change order requests and pay requests, assisting with the final reviews of as-builts drawings, and preparation of project closeout documents. Program Engineer (Stormwater Capital Improvement)

UUPI is in search of a qualified individual to undertake the role of an engineering analyst, responsible for the analysis, design, and project management functions essential for the execution of stormwater management construction improvements. Additionally, the position involves overseeing contracts, managing the collaborative efforts of engineers and scientists from professional service firms, and ensuring the successful completion of Capital Improvement Program stormwater projects. Duties encompass defining project scopes; creating schedules; formulating and updating cost estimates; coordinating land acquisition; overseeing permitting processes; providing technical guidance throughout the design, permitting, and construction phases; conducting quality control reviews; and offering general project direction. Minimum training and experience required include possession of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field and five years of professional experience that includes public works, underground utility engineering, stormwater engineering, or equivalent training and experience. Qualified candidates must possess registration as a licensed professional engineer at the time of application. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely two days per week.
