‘Become a Better Leader!’ - from the Leadership and Motivation Group at The Jukes Group

Everyone has the potential to become a better Leader, whether you are Leading yourself, your family, your team, or your Company.  However, most of us do not know what is needed to become a better Leader.  We can all strive to become better, as long as we know what we don’t know, and then intentionally develop and refine our skills.  Becoming a better Leader is one of the most fulfilling things that you can do in life, that is both rewarding and fulfilling, and can lead to Greatness and Success.

However, before we can become a better Leader, what is Leadership anyway? The best that I can do to define Leadership, based on all my experience of both life and Industry, is the following: “Helping others to be Successful, before you become Successful”. This is a great and concise way to think of Leadership, and you have to ask yourself if you are currently doing this?

The best way to become a better Leader is to help others first, and it is simple in principle, but difficult to do in practice. It is easy not to do!  As you go through life’s journey, have you ever asked yourself ‘what am I becoming, in the pursuit of what I am doing?’.  It is important to think about ‘who you are becoming’ in the pursuit of your Dreams, Goals and Career.  We have to get into the mind set of taking the lead, stepping up, and helping others first.  Effectively ‘becoming more’ in the process.

Another way to become a better Leader is by learning from others, and to read nonfiction books.  Books that I am currently getting my Leadership Team to read at the moment are ‘The Entrepreneur Rollercoaster’ by Darren Hardy, ‘EntreLeadership’ by Dave Ramsey, and ‘How to Win Friends & Influence People’ by Dale Carnegie.  Having my team read these books allows them to open their minds to see what is possible for them.

Developing yourself, growing each day, and being intentional is important. If you don’t do this, then you may be ‘the same person in 5 years from now as you are today, other than the books you read, and the people that you meet’.  Think about that for a minute!  Unless you develop and grow yourself today, and every day, you will be approximately in the same situation 5 years from now.  It has also been said that if you are not growing, then you cannot become your best.

At the Jukes Group we have a Leadership and Motivation Group that strives to bring the best out of people.  We hold a number of Leadership classes and we Mentor people by using ideas and concepts formulated by proven Industry Leaders.  Leaders who have been there, walk-the-talk, believe in helping others, live by Core Values, and openly share their experience.

So aim to become a better Leader today, stretch and grow, learn from proven Leaders, put together a Development Plan, and aim to become better than the rest.  Also make an effort to read nonfiction books, network with like-minded individuals and strive for Greatness. If you do this, then I am sure you will become more, become a better Leader, and help yourself and everyone around you!

Please contact The Jukes Group if you require further information about Leadership and Motivation, Mentoring Services, and to hear about Classes in Personal & Professional Development.

Well written! Leadership is about organically growing your team to succeed, in that way, everybody does well. By creating an inspiring vision for the future, managing delivery of that vision, and involving the team is one of the sure ways to create sustained growth. Thank you for the article.
