Becker's reports that OptumRx is to close 7 of its MedExpress Clinics in Florida and Minnesota. See https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/finance/7-optum-owned-clinics-shuttered-in-florida-minnesota.html?origin=BHRE&utm_source=BHRE&utm_medium=email&utm_content=newsletter&oly_enc_id=2593F5334367J1W
Here is a comment posted below the above November 8 report, Pandora Dance wrote: "HA HA HA dealing with walk-ins and patients with wonky insurance isn't all that easy. Optum is learning the hard way yet they keep trying to sell me their credit line for physicians...absolute parasitic "health care" fascists, filth, [former CEO] Andy Slavitt is still at it...."
My comment:
"OptumRx has a bad reputation among its customers. AID Healthcare Foundation accused OptumRx of "abusive" PBM practices for chronically ill patients. OptumRx profited from the opioid epidemic across the U.S. It was a bad idea for OptumRx to open clinics and put its staff face-to-face with angry customers who felt the company abused them or their friends and family. Based on my personal experience, I would not advise anyone to enroll in UnitedHealth Group's insurance or OptumRx's PBM. The view expressed by Pandora Dance is one I often hear in the Washington, D.C. area. UNH stock is presently at $538/share. They know how to play the health insurance racket. OptumRx's CEO Heather Cianfrocco is the "Pharma Sis" (see "Pharma Bro" Martin Shkreli) of the nation's PBM scandal.
