I know you were taught to be a great entrepreneur in school. I also know you learned marketing as an entrepreneur, and I also know that you probably invested in additional marketing study or help. When I begin talking about valid marketing, I notice I begin to lose some of you who hate to sell. You don’t want to manipulate or convince people. I say thank goodness! Let me ask you a question. Answer me honestly.

Do you provide services that help your clients? Do your clients get better as a result of your services? Are they glad they came to you?

Well, in my opinion, if you provide a service that has value and you don’t offer it to people, you are selfish. So, all I ask is to be willing to let people know what you offer. That is the only selling you will do. Deal?

Your Inner Landscape

You need to realize right here, right now, you are a entrepreneur and you are also in the business of marketing your consulting services and that marketing your services is equally as important as doing the consulting work you perform. And if you don’t become great at marketing your consulting services you won’t have clients to utilize your services, and that, my friend, is selfish.

I want you to also know that marketing your consulting services is not something you do one time… it is an on-going permanent activity which brings you clients on a regular basis. Let’s face it – clients will come and go so you always will need more coming than going.

I suggest that you focus your career on continuing to learn so you can earn. In fact learning and implementing marketing strategies on a regular basis should become your new hobby. When I say the word marketing I mean attracting prospective clients, converting them into paying clients, retaining them in an ongoing long-term relationship and creating massive benefits for them.
