Because we care
As any marketing and communications person knows, some of your work will involve taking raw content and making it look 'professional'.
This can be brochures, news releases, blog posts, social media ads, financial results, presentations, etc. The list is varied and the skills involved numerous - copywriting, design, proofreading, messaging, analysis, summarising, graphics, etc.
The alchemy of turning sow's ears into silk purses, leaden clay into shimmering pots, is an important one. I would even argue, a crucial one.
It is much more than simply a process of making something 'look pretty' - a phrase I have often heard in my career.
The creation of a professional, well-constructed and strongly-designed marketing asset gives authority and credibility to the product, service or company associated with it.
But it is even more fundamental than this. It shows that we care.
After all, if we don't care, how can we expect anyone else to?
