Because I Lived.
For the last ten weeks I have been raising money as part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year campaign.
It has been an amazing experience that has allowed me to reconnect with a lot of different people from my life. I have been overwhelmed by the sheer number of people that have donated (over 400) and how many people that have participated that I don't know that well or haven't connected with in decades. I am unbelievably grateful for all of you that have already contributed.
Throughout the campaign, candidates have been asked to express their “Why” for participating in this cause.
For me, it might appear obvious as I was diagnosed with Leukemia two years ago.
But I’m not doing this because I had cancer.
I’m doing this because I lived.
I feel it is my obligation as a survivor to do what I can to end this terrible disease. I realize how fortunate I have been. Every 10 minutes someone dies from blood cancer.
So that is my “Why” and I hope that you can make it yours as well.
I am just $3,993.65 away from my goal. This money will go to research that has led to treatments which are the reason that I am alive today.
The campaign ends on June 12th at 5p, so please help me get to my goal by donating at https://www.MonteCristoLC.com .
Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
