Beaux Arts Magazine - Thierry Mugler

My interview (in French) of Thierry Manfred Mugler for the opening of Couturissime, his first retrospective in France, at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs from the 30th September 2021 to the 24 April 2022. 95% of the pieces shown in the exhibition were never shown anywhere since they went on the runway, to the extent of moving Mugler himself when seeing them again.

I was of course extremely stressed and nervous to meet such a legend, and was expecting everything but this very kind, human, gentle and fun individual. We had a thrilling conversation, from his views on the fashion he created 35 years ago and how he sees it interacting with our world now, where women stand nowadays, his relationship to photography (this exhibition also show a significant number of pictures from Helmut Newton) and his next projects.
