Beauty: Unresolved Mystery

Beauty: Unresolved Mystery

This is my first attempt on writing about a topic I am passionate about, ‘Beauty’. And I have worked and working very closely to this category from very long now and strive hard to unlock this mystery of beauty on every possible juncture.

‘Beauty’, the word conjures up a vision of enchantment, an image of charm and magnificence; an aspect of life which we just imbibe without any advertisement or influence.

What fascinates me about this category is that “It is ever-evolving; ever-engaging yet always misunderstood!

Having spent substantial years working in the beauty category, through this blog I am attempting to throw light on the dark reality of this amazing facet of life.

After spending substantial years working in beauty category, I would like share one of the major insight I gather in this category

“Everybody loves to see beauty, but nobody understands the beauty”

I wonder why black is an awesome colour for a short party dress, but to accept it as a skin complexion still takes a while. Why is it that a man can be taller than his wife, but the other way round, can make that couple a butt of other people’s jokes!

These are some hard truth of life. What I am attempting to do here is take a poke on the shackles of age-old clichés. Many of us live according to other people's thinking. Be it our self-worth, our confidence or our looks, we are trained to mould ourselves within the parameters set by them.

If we have a beer belly then we would go to the length and breadth of the world for a tummy tuck. A girl who wants to show off her best pout in her selfie will seek out a cosmetic surgeon who will give her botox. What about the senior lady wanting a chin pull-up to remove the jowls? We aim at zero-size, turn to get-slim techniques and pull off all tricks in the trade to look like our pet TV actor.

So, what's the harm...Nothing. I too hit the gym to build my biceps and six-packs hoping for that looks and a compliment.

Nothing wrong in all the above, except that none of this should harm you. May I ask are you following the herd mentality?

You should not do anything because someone compels you. Do it to satisfy your desires.

Every cosmetic counter has a large array of beauty products of different brands. They are there to enhance your beauty and accentuate your best features. More importantly, it is the outcome of what you love to see.

Walk into any mall and head towards the cosmetic counter. Many cosmetic counters give you an on-the-spot make-up lesson. They teach you to apply foundation and tell you how to choose it to suit your skin. Lipsticks galore, they assist you with what to match it with and so on. If you have sat on their chair looking tired, believe me, you will stand up, from that very chair, looking beautiful and fresh.

These days nude make up is in vogue. It is a fascinating type of makeup where it feels so natural. That it is amazing. I guess beauty should be just that, as close to nature as possible.

So if we can accept something so close to nature in beauty products, why not the real person? Why do we want someone with a wheat-colour complexion to be fair or why can't we accept a short-heightened person in our midst without bullying him/her?

Can we be a more inclusive society when it comes to looking beautiful? Can we open our minds as well as our hearts to praise and compliment those who can’t boast of possessing conventional beauty?

I must add here that every one of us owes to ourselves to look good.  And for that, if you have to take any treatments or whatever, please do. The moot point is that you should want to do it and not pressured by the twisted mindset of the society.

But always remember that you are as beautiful as you feel, not as someone says.

Everybody has their signature beauty.

Beauty is more than skin deep. It is what you are inside. If you feel confident, compassionate and happy, all these elements will reflect upon your face and make it shine.

Do those push-ups and push out traditional hackneyed ideas that don't serve us anymore. Get positive about your loveliness; amp up your self-esteem by affirming powerful phrases to yourself.  Shape up that character, alter those views and imbibe excellent values.

Beauty is a complex word and no wonder it becomes difficult for anyone to understand it differently but everybody loves to see it.

There was just one Cleopatra. But all aspire to be like Cleopatra. This leads me to conclude this thought with another insight to ponder and write about:

“Too many aspirations; with many inhibitions:

Ladies & Gentlemen! Try an understand beauty not as you see it but as you feel it.

Everybody loves the beauty! admit it
