THE BEAUTY OF NETWORKING.
Networking in action: Daniella Sorace captured chatting with Business Transformation Advisor Karen Matthews in Sydney earlier this year.

THE BEAUTY OF NETWORKING.

"My favourite things in life, don’t cost any money. The most precious resource we all have is time." – Steve Jobs.

There are SO many benefits to networking and is important in paving the way to success.

For me personally, networking has allowed greater opportunity, clarity and led to my successful career to date.

I have recently embarked on a Powerful Steps journey run by powerhouse Tory Archbold, and through ongoing mentoring Tory has reminded me the importance of continuing to network holding me accountable to a minimum of 3 x coffee (in my case tea) dates a week.

If you are looking to broaden your connections and are a little unsure about how to go about it, I have compiled some quick techniques to encourage you to go fourth and conquer.

A friendly reminder before you dive in: Networking will always be in vogue; it is a great personal and professional tool which allows you to develop relationships and encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone.

I invite you to take a sneak peek inside my 'social butterfly toolkit' to get a glimpse at how I network daily to allow you to get the best out of every networking opportunity.

EMBRACE THE POWER OF A CUP OF TEA DATE (or coffee/kombucha)

I aim to meet with three (x3) cup of tea dates a week; someone inside and outside of my network, I often reach out and lock in 30 minutes of their time to say hello and connect and it is often a mix of in person and online catch ups.

LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES IN YOUR DAY TO DAY

Strike up a conversation with anyone that catches your eye. You never know how a simple hello could change or shape someone’s day or yours!

ATTEND GRAND OPENINGS AND EVENTS THAT ALIGN WITH YOUR INTERESTS & VALUES

By surrounding yourself with likeminded people, you never know who you might meet or be seated beside.

LEVEL UP AND GET CONNECTED ON SOCIALS

Connect on Linkedin, loveheart tap on IG and comment and engage with your new contacts as much as possible to increase your online presence and engage with your connections.

Networking is a two-way street; I challenge you to embrace the mutual exchange of energy with likeminded individuals, and be open to the opportunities that follow suit. Remember to network to get work and ensure you future proof yourself for prospective opportunities that keep you front of mind too.

The coffee date phenomenon is a movement!! So simple but so powerful, not to mention a lot of fun. To meet new and continue existing connections is seriously the best way to spend an hour (or 2) ????
