In the Old Town of Kotor, there are several places that are a must-visit for every visitor. The Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, the Karampana Fountain, and Napoleon's Theatre are just some of these places that add to the charm of this city. Each of them carries its own unique story.

Our Lady of the Rocks


The Bay of Kotor is the largest bay of the Adriatic Sea, beginning with the Bay of Herceg Novi, which narrows into the Kumbor Strait, then transitions into the Bay of Tivat, and finally enters the Risan and Kotor Bays. Each visitor to the Bay of Kotor experiences it in their own unique way. The natural contrasts of this region are pronounced: steep rocky cliffs dominate the bay's side, rising above the sea surface, while on the other side, lush botanical gardens can be found. The Bay is adorned with 7 islands: Mamula, St. Marko, Our Lady of the Rocks, St. George, Mercy, Flower, and Little Our Lady.

In Kotor, there are many boats that organize island tours. The tours can be private or group. By cruising to the beautiful islands, visitors can discover the hidden treasures of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. All the islands of the Bay of Kotor are diverse and full of fantastic stories.

Festivals

Dance, laugh and celebrate in style


Kotor is? known for its vibrant cultural scene. The city hosts various festivals, concerts, and events throughout the year, celebrating its heritage and traditions.

Kotor Carnival - This type of event, under the original name Fe?tanje, is held twice a year, in February and August. The festival attracts over a thousand visitors every year. Traditionally, the February carnival welcomes and bids farewell to the new spring and is held during daylight hours until sunset. The summer carnival is of an international character, and tourists can attend numerous festive activities in the pleasant evening hours. Original masks are prepared for this type of celebration, and competitions are held. The best carnival group receives a cash prize. The carnival is accompanied by other events, especially for children, such as various costume parties. The procession passes along the entire Kotor waterfront.


Magic at night


Bokelian Night - The event is traditionally held in the second half of August and represents a parade of masked boats. In the evening hours, visitors have the opportunity to attend a creative boat costume party, aimed at portraying coastal life and mentality, but also to depict certain social phenomena in a completely original and sometimes comical way. Traditionally, the end of this festive event is marked by fireworks.

Camellia Festival - An event in Kotor during which traditional exhibitions of camellia flower arrangements, art workshops, and outdoor exhibitions are held. The festival is accompanied by a cultural and entertainment program and a ball where the Camellia Queen is chosen.
