Beauty in a Failure
The failure story should go viral but not the failed person. But as a human species we are more interested in ‘Who’ then ‘What’ and ‘How’. This quality limits our learning; hence history as witnessed to repetition of major mistakes.
Our first learning should be to change the definition of success and failure. Our society cheers and applauds success and failures are ignored or hushed up. This gives a strong signal to avoid failure as much as possible when we know that failures lead to success. Yet it’s a human tendency to avoid to fail at all cost. In most society it’s a taboo word and men tend to either give up mid way or not to attempt difficult or outrageous ideas. What a loss mankind suffers because of fear of failure!

If we drill in our society that it’s not how times you fail but how times you get up from it. It’s beautifully expressed in Japanese culture, ‘Fall down 7 times but get up 8 times.’ No amount of success habits will insulate you?from failures instead if you view every failure as a stepping stone towards success then success won’t be that elusive. As Dale Carnegie said,?“Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.” Even Thomas Edison said, “I did not fail but found out 10000 different ways of that won’t work.” This attitude will inspire you only if your goal is clear and purpose is strong to push your boundaries, ignore trivialities and rise higher than the mundane chatter!
What’s one common quality with all the successful people? It’s?accepting failures and transforming them into a success story. J K Rowling’s story?was rejected over 17 times only to be a No.1 best seller for the entire series. Super star Amitabh Bachchan was rejected by All India Radio over the inferior quality of his voice, today it’s the baritone of his voice commands million fans.
Rowan Atkinson had very little talent in acting?hence pursed studies. He made his way into the prestigious Oxford University to study Electrical Engineering. He suffered from stuttering?so couldn’t clear auditions.?But an undeterred Atkinson started scripting his own TV Show, Mr. Bean. Today it’s a global phenomenon.
The above stories tell us that if you are ready to be vulnerable, embrace failures only to rise again and again then your goal is not far away!
