Beauty is Everywhere: Grand Canyon
Grand Canyon National Park, located in northwestern Arizona, is one of the most visited national parks in the United States. The park's central feature is the Grand Canyon, a gorge of the Colorado River, which is often considered one of the Wonders of the World. The Grand Canyon was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. Here are some photos of the magnificent canyon taken during a visit in 2019 right after the park celebrated its 100th anniversary. Of course, no photographs can ever do justice to the true beauty of the Grand Canyon.

4 年Sediment and QW sampling above Diamond Creek on the Colorado R. Our cleans hands dirty hands technique was unique and had great QA/QC. The sampler is a A1 from FISP and here is attached to a B-reel up high above where another colleague is on the cableway. USGS days.

4 年Done alot of sampling, processing, and monitoring of QW down in that hole. Did a lot of cableway measurements too. Over 100 days of work in there in one year back in the 00's when working in Flagstaff with the USGS. I miss it, the canyon grows on you. The flash floods out of the Paria drainage at Lee's Ferry is one of my favorite sediment sites!
