BEAUTY IN EMPTINESS

I recently read a story of a widow who had issues paying the debts her husband incurred in his life time. The credit period and days of grace she had expired and it was time for the creditors and mortgage companies to claim ALL she has. In this case, the order of the day as customs dictate was for everyone who had no real estates, monies or properties to give up their children to work as servants until the full value of the debt is paid off plus interest, it was time for her to bear the ultimate consequence of this law. As her case had triggered this clause in the law!

A wise suggestion from her mentor saved the day, as she was advised to borrow empty oil vessels and fill them from an unending source of oil she found. And this was her case in this story. More and More empty containers getting filled up with oil, after which she sells them and clear her husband’s debts.

Only other empty containers were needed! Emptiness breeds opportunities for new ideas and concepts to come to reality. It further gives life to dead end situations. Only empty spaces can be nurtured, cultivated and processed to bring forth end results.

In leadership today, only PRO-VISION is needed to build the empty life’s of others. The head man (Unit head, Department head, team lead) should see beyond the present state of his staff, but look further to see what they could become with good mentorship. “When the head is good, then the body has life”- Anonymous

• Emptiness is a disguised gift for leaders to learn how to use what they have to achieve what organization want.
• Emptiness reminds us that there is a need – a need to be fulfilled, a life to be touched, impact to be made.
• Emptiness creates opportunities for new ideas and innovations to be birthed – Why invent the motorcycles since bicycles exist?, why invent cars since the motorcycle exist?, why invent the aero plane since cars exist?
• Emptiness is only a temporal situation of a person, project or thing not the END
