The Beauty of Depth

We compete in a world of comparison. It’s a tough gig. One we are destined to lose.

We will lose because we are generally competing against a perfect that doesn’t exist.

We share our highlights and mask the hardships.?

I loved the film shared by the Royals this week but it showed us perfect. The messy middle had no place.

The problem with perfect is that it leaves out a lot of the truth. A truth that others can identify and connect with.

Appearances tell us very little because it’s too easy to edit your life.?

Yet, if we choose to be more open, leave off the filter then we are exposed.

The risks are high with raw honesty , yet the rewards are higher.

True deep connections come with the ability to open up and share your truth. We can survive without deep connection but I don’t believe we will thrive.

This morning I ran my Like Hearted Leaders call.? The conversation ran deep.

I left the call uplifted. I left the call supported and so grateful for this unique opportunity to connect so profoundly with other humans.

Superficial only gets us so far.

To thrive we need to dig deeper.

So let me leave you with this …

Don’t compare yourself.

You are unique and that’s your superpower.

Remember that most of what you see isn’t as perfect as you might first imagine.

Your life is perfect for what you need right now. When you need something different it will show up.

Trust.

Surrender.

Release.
