The Beauty Around Us

The sky is aglow, with golden lines weaving through it like a beautiful tapestry.

Set as a gift for a king.

The fresh air.

The verdant grass and trees.

The vibrant flowers and roses.

Your life is wonderful.

Our life is beautiful.

But have we noticed it?

Have we truly lived it?

Or has it merely become our default background that we hardly acknowledge?

I started to realize the beauty of the world and began to take deliberate action to recognize it.

This reminds me of Eckhart Tolle’s transformative experience, as he described in “The Power of Now”.

He was on the brink of despair, but then he started to appreciate the beauty of his life and the world around him.

I was overwhelmed with technology in this fast-paced world, where every minute should be utilized towards something productive.

I was thinking, if I missed the bus and waited 10 more minutes for the next one, I was unproductive.

My day was going to be a bad day.

I was breathing, but I didn’t realize that it was done on autopilot mode.

I started to be grateful that I missed the bus.

I mean I started to be alive to notice the beauty that surrounds me.

I started to enjoy every moment.

To see how beautiful the sky is.

How wonderful the snow is in the winters.

I started to cherish these little great things.

Just like Tolle, I started to be at peace with myself, to slow down and challenge the fast-paced life that is imposed on us.

I still admire technology, I still use it.

But I will never let it dominate my life.

I will not turn myself into a machine anymore.

I will live every day, finding beauty in every moment, just as Tolle did after his transformation.
