Beating REJECTION Masterclass

Beating REJECTION Masterclass

You may have heard of a book called Chicken Soup for the Soul?

It was a massive success when it was first published. If you don't know it, Chicken Soup for the Soul is a series of books, usually featuring a collection of short, inspirational stories and motivational essays. The 101 stories in the first book of the series were compiled by motivational speakers Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen and since its first run, there have been numerous volumes of Chicken Soup issued.

A huge success it would seem!?

However, the background behind the story is that 144 publishers rejected the book and their literary agent gave up on them, saying he just couldn't sell the book.

But despite those rejections, the authors kept going and moved past those early setbacks to launching 47 New York Times bestsellers and selling over 500 million books.

It's a writer's dream and also one of our biggest fears and nightmares - getting published but with the chance of crazy levels of rejection before any success might come.?

It can be incredibly discouraging and demotivating.

If you want to get your work published, you have to let others read it. And unfortunately, you can’t expect every reader to like it. Different people will have different opinions about your writing – in the same way you love books that others really don’t. This means both positive and negative feedback. Just look at the star ratings on Amazon to get a feel for the different reactions readers can have to the same book!
