Beating LinkedIn’s Algorithm

Impressions are often dismissed as vanity metrics, but at Rugby Bricks and in our newsletter, we've found they closely correlate with revenue and subscriber growth. Kale consistently gets 20,000 to 50,000 free impressions on LinkedIn weekly—something that would cost about $2,000 in ads.

$4,000 worth of ad spend right here

This is how he does it:

  1. Content Selection LinkedIn and its users love celebrating achievements and breaking news. Kale mixes these topics into his posts, whether it’s about A.I. or our expansion into new markets. The key is that it has to be new.
  2. Content Hooks Kale starts every post with a hook to encourage people to click “...show more.” He uses a show-and-tell format to preview what the post will cover in a concise way.
  3. Engagement Groups Kale shares his posts in a WhatsApp engagement group to get early engagement. This helps boost the post’s reach in the first hour, which LinkedIn’s algorithm loves.
