Summer is here! We already know how important water is for the proper functioning of biochemical reactions in our bodies. It is essential to maintain body temperature and circulation of blood in our body among other things. The summer months are a bit hard on our body hydration-wise. In this blog, we have discussed some of the?smart tips that will help keep you hydrated?and active during the tiresome summer months.
How to Stay Hydrated
The summer heat makes you sweat which cools you down. This also means you lose a significant amount of fluid from your body.
1. Drink water throughout the day
Though it is universally known how important water is, we still forget to drink enough water. Always remember that you don’t have to wait until you’re thirsty. Sip water?throughout the day to prevent dehydration. You can use water tracker apps on mobile phones to keep track or for reminders to drink water at assigned times.
2. Don’t just drink, EAT water as well.
As almost 20% of our water intake comes from water-rich fruits and vegetables, it is essential that you eat different varieties of fruits and vegetables to stay hydrated. Cucumbers, radishes, melons, peaches, papayas, strawberries, and lettuces are all excellent options and you must carry them with you on the go!

While not all beverages are good for you, there are a plethora of healthy cold beverage options. Most fruits and veggies can be made into delicious smoothies. Alternatively, you can invest in ice tea, lemonade, buttermilk, or sugarcane juice. Trust us, you will never run out of options when it comes to experimenting with?cold beverages.

If you are bored with the regular water,?try infused water.?Add a few easy additives to make it more fun To enhance the flavor, you can add orange, berries, lemons, mint, or other fruits. This practice of infusing water might also help you drink more water than usual.

Coconut water is a mineral-rich drink that is high in magnesium, sodium, potassium, and calcium. Having coconut water is one of the best ways to quickly replace lost fluids and electrolytes caused by hot weather. Drink it regularly to not only keep your body hydrated but also your digestive system healthy.
