Feeling the heat from a team teetering on the edge of burnout? You're not alone. As a burnout expert (and sanity saver!), I've seen the toll exhaustion takes on both employees and businesses. But here's the good news: burnout isn't an inevitable fate, it's the opposite side of the coin called engagement.
Think of it this way: while burnout zaps your energy and motivation, engagement fuels it! Researchers like Wilmar B. Schaufeli and his team have identified three key aspects that define this fire-starting state:
Now, how do we get your team from burnt toast to blazing a trail? Here are some tips, inspired by the research on engagement:
By focusing on these aspects of engagement, you're not just creating a happier and more motivated team, you're actively preventing burnout. Reduced exhaustion, a flagship symptom of burnout, means less employee turnover and a more productive, successful workforce.

How to eliminate the deep exhaustion of burnout … permanently … is what I can show you. If regaining your energy , sleep , health and enjoyment in life sounds good but feels unreachable … book a call with me
7 个月All these points great for ensuring burnout doesn’t take hold and for ensuring new employees don’t end up with it . But I’m not sure once it HAS taken hold whether this works to reverse burnout. The people I see with burnout would take a lot more than feeling valued or getting engaged to materially impact upon their deeply engrained chronic burnout. But as an organisational approach to preventing burnout … agree totally. And as part of an overall strategy to fix burnout… brilliant. On their own however these things will not in my view fix anyones burnout in the short term .

7 个月The problem with people getting so burnt out that they leave is that this represents huge losses to the organisation - reduced productivity before leaving - possible mistakes made leading to losses down the line ( hard to attribute st that point) - being a difficult colleague to work with ( not invariable but common in burnout) - Intellectual capital lost - recruitment costs I wonder if every firm knew for sure that someone leaving in Burnout had cost them £200,000 … Wouid they take it more seriously?
