A Beacon for Inclusion & Activity: Eastoke Corner, Hayling Island
Eastoke Seaside Play Park Transformed with £200,000 Revamp
Havant Borough Council, in collaboration with Proludic, has unveiled an impressive £200,000 renovation of the seaside play park at Eastoke Corner on Hayling Island. This revitalized space is designed to cater to children, teenagers, and fitness enthusiasts, featuring a dedicated exercise zone with strength training stations, cardio equipment, a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), and a floor exercise area.
A New Era for Eastoke Play Park
The ambitious project aimed to rejuvenate a once-popular yet neglected seaside facility, which had suffered from the harsh effects of the sea air. The renovation not only refurbished the space but also ensured its durability against saline corrosion. Proludic’s equipment, known for withstanding tough climates, comes with lifetime guarantees on specific elements, ensuring longevity and minimal maintenance.
Inclusive and Inspired Design
Emphasizing inclusivity, the design incorporates play elements accessible to users of all abilities. A highlight is the bespoke wheelchair-accessible train unit, inspired by the local Hayling Light Railway, which accommodates up to eight users. This unique feature enriches the social play experience and fosters inclusivity. Durable materials such as hot-zinc-dip galvanization and powder coating were used to combat the corrosive sea air, ensuring the equipment’s resilience.
