Research grant success as Griffith alumni granted over $9 million for critical research projects??

  • Associate Professor Anna Kralj (B International Business '02) and Dr Truc H. Le, PhD FHEA (B Business (HTERS) '15; B Business (Hons) '16; Doctor of Philosophy '20) are among a group of tourism experts from 澳大利亚格里菲斯大学 who have secured an $8.2 million Commonwealth grant in partnership with the Etheridge Shire as part of the Federal Government’s Growing Regions Program.   • Professor Professor Sally-Ann Poulsen (B Science '92; B Science (Hons) '93; PhD (SCT) '96) is leading a team to implement advanced biomedical technology that will enable cross-collaboration research to develop life-changing therapies, vaccines and diagnostics. The technology will be a first-in-Australia is called native Charge Detection Mass Spectrometry (nCDMS) and is supported by a $1 million Ramaciotti Biomedical Research Award.   • Congratulations to Dr. Loraine McKay (GCert Higher Education '16) and Dr Michelle Ronksley-Pavia, PhD, FHEA (Doctor of Philosophy '16), who have received Education Horizon research grants. The funding will support research to improve future teachers' and students' study journeys and lives. Loraine and Michelle are two of five Griffith-based researchers who secured Education Horizon grants for a total value of more than $475,000. Read more:

  • Associate Professor Robin Roberts (M International Bus (Hons) '07; MBA '17; Doctor of Philosophy '12) is one of only 11 researchers awarded a grant to research the role of data-enabled traceability systems and tools for agriculture industries. Valued at $320,000, Associate Professor Roberts' project is titled, 'Evaluation and resource development to advance Australian agriculture export traceability study of seafood and horticulture trade with Vietnam' and is supported by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) – Building Trust in Australian Agricultural Traceability and Credentials program. High-level board appointments for Griffith graduates?

  • Congratulations to Professor Cephas Lumina (Doctor of Philosophy '99; GCert Higher Education '00), one of nine members elected to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child to serve a four-year term. Professor Lumina was among the five candidates endorsed by the African Union. This will be Professor Lumina’s second term on the Committee. Read more .

  • Congratulations to Professor Paul Simshauser AM (B Commerce '93; M Commerce Accounting & Fin '98; GCert Policy Analysis '18) on his appointment to the Queensland Energy System Advisory Board (QESAB), a new independent technical advisory board. Professor Paul Simshauser is the Chief Executive Officer of Powerlink and is a part-time professor of economics at the Centre of Applied Energy Economics and Policy Research with 澳大利亚格里菲斯大学 .   • Annelise Hall (B Musical Theatre '21) continues to shine as Sandy in Grease the Musical. The Queensland Conservatorium graduate is currently on stage as Sandy in Perth alongside Patti Newton, Marcia Hines, Jay Laga’aia and Mackenzie Dunn. Read more. ?

  • Spotted on campus! Thank you to Elim Chan (M Marketing '23), Jaymarin Steele (B Business/B International Bus '19), Tariq kawas (B Eng Hon Elec Biomed Eng '19; M Information Technology '21), Medina Jenkins (B Engineering (Hons) '23) and Arindam Saha (B Engineering (Hons) '24) for spending time on campus to talk to current students about their career journeys.   • Congratulations to Nicole Evans (GCert Higher Education '17), celebrating her 20-year anniversary at 澳大利亚格里菲斯大学 . Nicole is a Griffith University graduate, staff member and also an award winning business owner. Through her company ConnectedLE , Nicole focusses on connecting through lived experience, blending the power of storytelling and science to build mental fitness and thriving communities.

  • Emily Parker (Bachelor of Fine Art/B Bus '23; Currently studying B Visual Arts (Honours)) has launched PARKER Contemporary. PARKER Contemporary represents Australian artists who employ printmaking, papermaking and artist books in their practice. In September this year, PARKER Contemporary will be participating at Sydney Contemporary , Australasia’s premier and largest art fair with contemporary art galleries from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and around the globe.
