BCR Manufacturer Rep Spotlight: H. P. Thompson

BCR Environmental Corporation applies technology to tackle process-stream challenges in a better way.  That is possible because of BCR’s people and BCR’s Manufacturer’s Representatives.  Both are key to delivering results to our customers. This article is one in a series on our Manufacturer’s Representatives around the country.

The Henry P. Thompson Company (HPT) is the local representative for BCR for the Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky territory.  Established in 1910, HPT is the oldest manufacturers’ representative firm doing business in the water and wastewater equipment industry. That is over 100 years of continuous experience in the industry. When we spoke to the firm’s President, Timothy Shaw, he said, “We take a lot of pride in continuing the tradition of providing quality service and support to our customers. For us, that longevity comes from our customers’ trust.” HPT did their due diligence when considering representing BCR, and BCR, says Shaw, “passed with flying colors.”

Shaw’s customers, which are 70-80% municipal, are faced with options that involve significant investment. Why should municipal customers choose BCR’s products? Lowest total cost and least risk solutions.

“Wastewater plants like Butler County, experience a lot of undesirable odors with the sludge end-product.” For Butler County, existing options for disposing the end-product are limited and landfills are not accepting certain sludges due to the smell. Since places to take the sludge are not available, reducing the odor becomes critical and the schedule is tight. In comes BCR’s CleanB?.

“The number one concern for Butler County was the odor,” says Shaw. After looking at multiple different processes for reducing odor, Butler County found, in Shaw’s words, “There’s really nothing out there that competes with CleanB? for that. We haven’t found anything like it or as effective.” Other options, like using blowers for sludge digestion, cost significantly more to operate. CleanB? is Operating Expense friendly as well as Capital Expense friendly.

BCR has been great to work with,” Shaw adds. “They’re doing everything they said they were going to do.” Clearly, if you are going to be in business for more than 100 years, that matters.

Not near a current installation? BCR has mobile demo units available to come to your region, and demonstrations are now being scheduled. We were just in Huntington, West Virginia. You can read about the Huntington demonstration here. [link]
