BCI Minerals teams up with Parabellum to care for our people

Ensuring a safe workplace is pivotal in driving progress at the Mardie Salt and Potash Project.

Since February this year, BCI Minerals has partnered with Parabellum International to ensure there is prompt medical and emergency response services? on site.

As part of this work, Parabellum manages the medical centre at Mardie and co-ordinates the on site emergency response services and team.

They provide specialist personnel including Paramedics, Emergency Services Officers, and Emergency Response Coordinators to ensure the Mardie Project can respond to any emergency or medical situation.

BCI Minerals Health and Safety Manager, Scott Sanders, said the early success of the partnership prompted BCI Minerals to extend its collaboration with Parabellum in July.

“Parabellum has a proven track record of successfully managing emergency response services at similar projects throughout Australia, particularly in the Pilbara region of WA,” he said.

“This collaboration aligns with our value to ‘Win as One Team’, with BCI Minerals and Parabellum working together to build a long-term partnership.

“With site being about two hours from Karratha by road, it is critical we have the right response to keep our people safe, and with Parabellum training and leading our emergency response volunteers, we are in great hands.”

On top of their emergency response service offering, Parabellum also leads the management of the poisons permit, including clinical practice guidelines and a 24\7 on-call doctor service. This work involves regular infield checks, audits, and drills with teams to ensure compliance with legal and business requirements.

Parabellum Chief Operating Officer Jessica Keogh said it was exciting to be working with BCI Minerals on the Mardie Salt and Potash Project.

“Our team bring their extensive expertise to ensure personnel are protected, allowing the Project to operate smoothly and safely,” she said.

“We look forward to building a long-term partnership with BCI Minerals, where we can continue to deliver these critical services and contribute to an already strong and positive culture on site.”

The range of services on offer from Parabellum allows BCI Minerals to be well-equipped should an emergency occur at the Mardie Project.

On top of providing first aid training and toolbox information sessions, Parabellum has developed emergency response scenarios to ensure personnel are ready to act if required.

As Mardie moves into the operational phase, this support means BCI Minerals can advance activities with confidence, knowing its employees are in good hands.
