Game Summaries

(Please note: These are parody results for entertainment purposes only)

Sorkin (1) vs Bedoya (16)

Bedoya enters the tournament as the cinderella 16 seed and only ACE in the field. Bedoya is coming off an outstanding regular season, providing in-person and virtual training classes both in the US and Mexico. Both Sorkin and Bedoya's styles are highly roach centric, making for a close matchup, but Sorkin's veteran experience holds off the challenger and leads to an 87 – 75 victory for the #1 seed.

Sandidge (8) vs Berry (9)

This is a tight match up of two skilled and entertaining presenters. Sandidge is likely one of the flashiest and most engaging in-person trainers in the tournament. Berry brings a solid in-person game as well and is able to overcome Sandidge with a steady diet of meat and potatoes social media content. Berry edges out Sandidge for the win, 98 – 92. We can't be sure but Sandidge may have been suffering some intestinal distress during the game...ask him what to call it!

Lee(4) vs Straubinger (13)

Lee's style relies heavily on the data analytics. Straubinger's game includes a steady diet of fundamentals with a busy regular season schedule of training sessions. In the end however, Lees' tough defense of charts and graphs, communicating the latest research findings, smothers Straubinger's Purdue Pedigree, leading to a low scoring 56 – 51 victory for Lee. (Interestingly, Purdue stands a real chance in the actual NCAA basketball tournament this March!)

Krejci (5) vs Portugal (12)

Krejci enters the tournament riding a wave of momentum from the regular season. Portugal on the other hand, comes in with a prolific offense of social media content. Due to the seeding, unfortunately for the product of Missisipi State, Portugal is paired up with the second highest scoring social media player in the entire tournament. Krejci walks away with a win in the highest scoring match up of round one at 110 – 104. Given the solid fundamentals in Portugal's game, we expect a return visit and deep run in the future for him.

Fredericks (2) vs Spigler (15)

One of the perennial best, Fredericks enters this matchup with Spigler as a prohibitive heavy favorite. His work with the NPAM and now PPMA alone makes Fredericks a difficult match up for anyone. Spigler plays a scrappy game however. By supporting the state associations at training events all season long and a steady diet of social media content, Spigler is able to rack up the points. Digging deep into varied industry experience, Spigler pulls of an unprecedented (because this is the first time and this is all made up) upset of the national association stallwart with a shocking buzzer beater win 74 – 73!

Sutherland (7) vs Wright (10)

Wright comes in as one of the hottest players over the last two months with a daily linkedin drawing series for all of February. This late season push of daily social media outreach secured Wright this spot in the bracket. Sutherland on the other hand, is one of the most consistent scorers with in-person and social media outreach. In the end, the consistent quality of content coming from Sutherland over a sustained period is too much, and wright falls 87 – 80.

Kenmuir (3) vs Ramsey (14)

Given Ramsey's involvement with with the state and national associations, and coming from a talented team out of Rollins, some have questions a controversial 14 seed. A resume that includes work with the state and national associations, extensive in-person training classes, contributions to trade magazines and a solid social media game, few in the field could match up with Ramsey. The pairing with Kenmuir makes this one of the most evenly matched first round pairings however, and could easily have been the championship game. In the end, Kenmuir narrowly avoids giving up the upset and wins with a 91 – 88 final score. Editorial Note: A complaint was filed with the very real and totally not made up selection committee regarding alleged snubbing of players and seeding irregularities. An exhaustive investigation is underway.

Holt (6) vs Allen (11)

Coming in as one of the youngest players in the tournament, Allen is a rising star in the industry. Allen's community minded approach exemplifies the next generation of pest professionals. Unfortunately for Allen, he runs into a social media buzz-saw of offense in Holt. While Allen's Clemson Tigers are likely going to the big dance this March, on this night, Holt Tik-Tok-ed his way to a 86 – 78 victory sending Allen home.
