BCC PLANNING COMMITTEE 16 KENT STREET

At planning committee today, Members resolved to approve a new 12 storey building with 116 apartments above two ground floor commercial units at 16 Kent Street. The scheme responds to the emerging residential context of the area and will contribute to the regeneration of the Southside area of the city centre. The residential accommodation provided is of a high-quality in terms of prospective living conditions for future residents, overall design and accessibility, meeting the local planning authority’s requirements in respect of space and amenity. Conditions are attached to safeguard prospective residents from noise from the nearby Nightingale club, an iconic Birmingham venue. Looking forward to seeing this been built out.
