Some recent ‘Wow!’ moments to inspire you

Running a business can feel like you’re running through a maze without a map: filled with unexpected challenges, uncertainty, and hard decisions.?

It’s easy for business owners to get caught up in their own journey and forget the importance of support along the way.?

Our monthly highlights showcase how important support is. It offers clarity in chaos, people to celebrate successes with, people to share ideas with, and an outlet for challenges and frustrations.?

If you’re a business owner stuck in the maze and need a bit of motivation, check out?this video!?

Are you struggling to get sales?? ?

When sales have dried up, I tell all my members to create a sales target checklist. This is somewhere they can look for sales when they feel like they’re hitting the wall.?? ??

Here are some of the common places where you can look for sales.??

  1. Current Clients - Upselling and cross-selling are effective strategies to increase sales. The goal is to provide more value to your customers whilst increasing your sales. By doing so, you can strengthen your relationships with your existing customers and generate more revenue for your business.
  2. Past Clients - Reach out to past satisfied clients and see if they have any additional work or projects that you can help them with. By leveraging your existing relationships and providing top-notch service, you not only increase your sales but also build a loyal customer base that can lead to more referrals and repeat business in the long run.
  3. Current ‘Live’ List - Focus on people who have already shown interest in your services, such as past leads or subscribers. By targeting these individuals with personalised and relevant offers, you can increase your chances of converting them into paying customers, thereby boosting your sales.
  4. Referrals - Ask your satisfied clients for referrals. For small businesses, referrals are the best strategy for getting good warm leads, as the person doing the referring has already done some filtering and convincing. This leads to higher conversion rates.
  5. Joint ventures and partners? - Joint ventures and partnerships can be valuable for small businesses as they offer opportunities to collaborate with complementary businesses, leverage each other's strengths, share resources and costs, and access new markets and customers.
  6. Networking - I am a massive fan of business networking. I built my service business to over £100k on networking alone and ran two networking groups in my local area. It can be a valuable strategy. If done right, it allows you to build relationships, establish credibility, generate referrals, and learn about industry trends from peers and experts in your field.
  7. Cold Direct sales - Telesales, door knocking and LinkedIn direct messaging are all potential outreach methods to reach new customers and generate sales. These methods require a strategic approach, including researching your target audience, preparing a compelling pitch, and following up consistently, and can be effective for businesses that are willing to put in the effort to build relationships and establish trust with potential customers.
  8. Social Media Activity - Social media is a powerful tool to generate leads and reach new customers. By sharing valuable content and engaging with your audience, you can encourage your ideal audience to take action and visit your website or contact you for more information. A strong brand identity, engaging content, and continuous monitoring and improvement are key to effective social media lead generation.
  9. Get Creative - Get creative and have fun with lead generation by using methods such as distributing flyers, hosting webinars or speaking at events. These methods require careful planning and execution, but they can be effective for businesses that are willing to try new approaches to reach their target audience and generate leads. ??

Where else do you go for sales?

8 soft traits every successful small business owner needs

These traits are critical to give you every chance at success.?? ?

As you read through, ask yourself if you possess any of these, what evidence you have, and whether you can improve on any??? ? ?

  • Consistently showing up, in every sense of the word, not hiding from your problems and challenges.
  • Always bringing your best. I know it’s impossible to be your best self every single day, so the best you have that day. Eventually this will become a habit.?
  • Agility in meeting the needs of the market, looking for things that you can improve when times get tough.?? ?
  • A flexible mindset. This will open more opportunities for you, allowing you to take more risks.
  • Commitment to achieving your goals.?
  • Collaboration and partnership. This will give you a buddy to support you and plug your gaps.
  • Focus on achieving your agenda and your goals.
  • Consistency! Consistency is key.?

When you're running a six-figure business, it can start to feel overwhelming ??

There are so many moving parts to keep track of.?? ??

One of the most common problems that business owners face are with their teams.?? ??

For the whole team to work effectively they must know what roles they are playing in the business and how that contributes to the wider company.?? ??

In my workshops with six-figure service-based businesses, we have simplified this right down – using sports. (Don’t worry, no running required!)?? ??

You need to think of your business in the simplest way possible…? ??

??What’s the game you’re playing???

??How are you winning this game???

??How are you scoring???

??What’s your defensive strategy??

??What positions are you playing??

?? What positions are each of your team members playing??

??Is anyone letting the side down??

??Are any team members better suited to other positions??

??Are you winning well?? ?? ??

For us, it’s basketball – we need to score more points than we lose. We’ve got a clear offensive and defensive strategy and everyone knows their position on the court.

I promise you that adopting this mentality is a complete game-changer.?? ??

If you want to find out how to Scale your business in the most efficient way possible, join us on the 31st of October.

Team BBB are amazing!

THEY DID IT – They climbed Mount Snowdon!

Not only did they do it, they did it with:

?? 70mph+ winds?

??? torrential rain?

?? -3 temperatures?

?? loss of sight

???? dizzy episodes?

It was tougher than we ever imagined. ??

At times it was proper scary, they were clinging onto rocks so as not to blow away. ?? At times they thought they might have to turn back. ?? BUT they persevered, powered through and faced their fears. ???? We raised such an incredible amount for our chosen charity?First Days Children's Charity!

It’s not too late to donate.

Thank you to everyone who donated, we appreciate every penny and so will the families who this money will go such a long way to help. ???

So proud. ??

Team Tip: Success and Happiness start with Self-Esteem?with George Swift

Sounds fluffy, I know, but your self-esteem limits what you can achieve by setting the bar low for what you feel you deserve.?

If you start becoming more successful than you think you deserve to be, you’ll?start to feel uncomfortable. Unconscious mechanisms will manipulate you ‘back to where you belong’.?Equally, your overall happiness and wellbeing are directly linked?to your self-esteem.?

This is why it’s?important to invest time in boosting your self-esteem and general sense of self. Here are just some of the ways you can positively impact?your self-esteem:?

  1. Limit contact with people who knock you, bring you down or doubt your ability. Instead, spend time with people who make you feel good about yourself.?
  2. Limit exposure to those environments that don’t?support you in who you want to be – find your tribe, other people who understand the journey you’re?on and what it is to be an entrepreneur.?
  3. Monitor?your self-talk and don’t?allow negative thoughts about yourself to go unchecked. Instead, make a conscious effort to initiate?positive self-talk.?
  4. Keep a diary or journal and track your achievements each day, every day, no excuses.?

A healthy self-esteem will raise the bar for what you deserve, and therefore what you can achieve. It will also massively and positively impact?your overall experience and quality of life.?

“I don't have enough leads!” - This is what I'm hearing constantly right now as business owners face challenging times. As the 'good sales' window is limited before the end of the year for most service-based businesses, it's time to look at what needs to change for you to achieve success.
