The BB Village
That’s a good initiative Smaran, I hope that all youngsters do find a way to get attached to their roots, “However far you want you can go but there is someone who is always in need of you, not to forget their people and their village”

Smaranjeet managed to get finance through his father’s known sources. His rent a car business “Ulluru” (named after his village in Mysuru) was gradually improving. In-spite of a significant growth it lacked the drive, moreover it wasn’t helping him to cover up the expenses. Hence, he thought it was time for him to push a little more and move on to the next level in business. He was a keen sportsman too an ardent follower of NBA, being a basketball player himself.
Smaranjeet wanted to settle down in his village “Ulluru” but his father did not want him to stay in Ulluru. He successfully finished his MBA, after completing his post-graduation in MA. His father supported him for his studies and also wished he had gone abroad for a year or two and specialized in Finance or Banking, but Smaranjeet wasn’t keen on it, secondly he wanted to start a business of his own in his village, he wanted his village to be among the best and the pride of villagers. He got a feasibility study done of his business and later agreed with his father that the kind of business he was thinking was better to be done from a city, hence he diverted his attention to one of the closest city to his village Mysuru.
Smaranjeet’s father Shekar, a farmer who along with his partner in agriculture farming had tried hands on many a business, but finally set upon doing ginger farming and since last many years focused on improving the farm yield and they had been successful and are also well known in farming circle. He followed a routine of getting up at 4.00 in the morning and leave for the field, by 10.00 he will be back home have his food and again go back to return home by 3.00 pm. Never one day did he miss his work? He was determined, persistent and he always advised his son to be consistent and determined in whatever he does. But it wasn’t the same with other villagers.
Many a farms of the villagers had been mortgaged and major part of their revenue was eaten up by the interest paid to private money lenders and the rest of the money ended up in “hooch”, an illicit alcohol brewery run by few outsiders who made this village their den and minted money by selling it to the innocent villagers, harming their life and putting them in addiction and a debt trap.
The youth of the village too followed the footsteps of their father and fore fathers and was finding it difficult to come out of alcohol addiction. This was one of the reasons why Shekar (Smaranjeet’s father), did not want Smaranjeet to stay in the village. But time and again Smaranjeet was attracted to the pristine beauty of his village, the vast village pond, the hillocks, thick greenery. He understood the situation and wanted to do something for his village youngsters, especially his class mates whose future seemed bleak. He wanted them to at least come out of the addiction of alcohol.
Smaranjeet hired one more staff and he also added two more cars to his fleet of cars. He well-trained his staff and sometimes stayed back late nights along with his team to meet the demands of his corporate customers. Gradually his business grew, it was more than 2 years that he started the business, and now he has a fleet of 12 cars of his own apart from hiring cars from outside to meet the needs of his customers. He was able to manage his business by keeping in touch with his able & efficient team through phone saving time. Now he frequently visited his village and gradually formed a group of youngsters. He trained them on playing basketball. He invested a small amount as well requested his school principal to support him. The school principal agreed and supported him in constructing a basketball court and also arranging for accessories for children who were too keen in understanding and playing the game.
