BAUER PE Returns After 2 Years on the High Seas with the Baltic Heritage Foundation

Rolandas Sch?n from the non-profit organization Baltic Sea Nature & Heritage Protection Association opens the tailgate of his station wagon. Together, he and BAUER employee Ralf Deichelmann lift the BAUER PE-TE 250 diving sports compressor out of the hold.

Amazing: Two years of hard work on board the expedition ship have left almost no trace. Real BAUER quality! Rolanda's comment when asked what could be optimized about the system? “Nothing, perfect system, gave us the breathing air we needed with the reliability of Swiss clockwork.”

Without the PE-TE 250, the team would not have been able to carry out any of the demanding cold-water dives to painstakingly free culturally valuable wrecks in the Baltic Sea from so-called ghost nets.

These nets, which were lost from fishing boats, had sometimes completely enveloped the wrecks and, saturated with pollutants, became a death trap for countless sea creatures.

The planning is already complete for next year. Rebreathers, whose smaller bottles require smaller volumes of breathing air, are now the preferred equipment for diving. For 2024, they will use a super-compact and easy-to-transport JUNIOR II from BAUER KOMPRESSOREN.

Rolandas Kommentar auf die Frage, was man an der Anlage optimieren k?nnte? ?Nichts, perfekte Anlage, hat uns mit der Zuverl?ssigkeit eines Schweizer Uhrwerks die notwendige Atemluft geliefert“. Ohne ihn h?tte das Team keinen der anspruchsvollen Kaltwassertauchg?nge durchführen k?nnen, um kulturell wertvolle Wracks in der Ostsee in mühseliger Arbeit von sogenannten Geisternetzen zu befreien.

Diese von Fischkuttern verlorenen Netze hatten die Wracks teils komplett eingehüllt, und wurden, mit Schadstoffen vollgesaugt, für zahllose Meeresbewohner zur Todesfalle. Für das n?chste Jahr steht die komplette Planung bereits. Getaucht wird inzwischen vorzugsweise mit Kreislaufger?ten, deren kleinere Flaschen kleinere Mengen an Atemluft ben?tigen. Die liefert dann ab 2024 ein superkompakter und leicht zu transportierender JUNIOR II von BAUER KOMPRESSOREN.
