The Battle of Stoke Field
A play by Peter Tyrer.
The Battle of Stoke Field was fought between the forces of the Earl of Lincoln and Henry VII in 1487. It was the last battle of the Wars of the Roses.
Behind Henry was his mother; Margaret Beaufort , she was the clever and duplicitous real power behind the throne. Henry preferred to read books.
More than 5000 were killed, considerably more than Bosworth Field two years before.
This play tells of the mix deceptions, Machiavellian plots, ambition, chivalry and valour in battle - involving a fake pretender to the throne.
This will be our second radio play that we have been contracted to do and look forward to working with Peter again.
The play is already in print and can be obtained on Amazon or by contacting [email protected].
We undertake this task as a duty, not to forget all those that fell at the Battle of Stoke Field and were forgotten so quickly.
